ABOUT KOKONG FESTIVAL

Kokong is an interdisciplinary festival focused on experimental electronic and electroacoustic music, typically taking place annually – during the first weekend of August. The festival also features elements of dance and performance art. Its purpose is to support and nurture the local artists and creators on our beloved island, while also inviting international talents to create unforgettable encounters and exchanges. In this way, Kokong aims to contribute to the development of the local electronic music scene.

The festival is located in Aland Islands, the Ibiza of the Baltic Sea, and was created by a group of passionate enthusiasts who wanted to see a broader range of experimental electronic music in their hometown. Near Pub Stallhagen in Godby stands the dome that inspired the festival’s name.

Thanks to its unique structure and transparent walls, the dome is a perfect space for enclosure and transformation. As a visitor, you are invited to sink into ambient soundscapes and be transported far away from everything outside. Today, the concept has come to also includes more club-oriented elements.
